Bethel Coach Tours' Website Security Overview

SecureThe Simple Explanation: Your information is entered on our website (http://www.bethelcoachtours.com), but is actually stored in a completely different location. The server where reservation details are stored is secure and accessible only by the Bethel Coach Tours website. The only other way someone (or a robot) could access such information is if they were given such access, which we do not allow. Additionally, the information you provide to Bethel Coach Tours is NEVER used for anything other than providing you with travel details on the tour you've selected. We never sell, lend or share our customers details with third party vendors unless it is for rooming, flight or other transportation needs as they pertain to your reservation needs.

The Technical Explanation:We keep all our servers behind a transparent firewall. Essentially, unless We specifically open a port on our system, the ports are all closed via hardware firewall. The SQL server is not available for direct connections unless we specifically allow them through our firewall. All our systems run in VMWare ESX virtual machines. Starting in January 2012, we will be migrating these virtual machines into a clustered VMWare ESX server configuration for fail over protection (the clusters are multi homed even to prevent service disruption in the event of catastrophic server hardware failure - the only down time is while the ESX server reboots on another cluster blade). This is not actually a security feature but it is important to know for the reliability of service provided. All of our systems run Windows server (most are currently running Windows server 2003) which are kept up to date and actively monitored for intrusion.
